Meet the Team - Chris Moran, Founder

Chris founded JCM in 2010 with a clear intention: to build a consultancy that puts people first.

Today, as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman, he works one day a week supporting and mentoring the consultants and sales team. His focus is on guidance rather than control, as he loves helping others grow, strengthening client relationships and ensuring the business continues to develop sustainably.

Before launching JCM, Chris spent 10 years working in the industry at a senior finance level. He then moved into consultancy, leading teams implementing high-value finance and manufacturing systems. Over time, he progressed to Sales Director, a role he held for a decade. It was there that he deepened his belief that strong businesses are built on trust, clarity and long-term relationships.

Sales and business development remain his natural territory. Chris has always believed that sales is not about pressure or persuasion, it’s about honesty, understanding what you can genuinely deliver and building relationships that last. In his words, “people buy off people.” That simple principle still underpins JCM’s approach today.

One of the greatest satisfactions of his career has been watching people develop, both within the team and in the businesses JCM supports. Seeing individuals step up, stretch themselves and sometimes even outgrow what they thought was possible is something he values deeply.

Outside of work, Chris is most at home in the hills. He's passionate about hill and trail walking across Wales and Northern England, where navigation, patience and reading the terrain are essential skills. He often draws parallels between walking and sales, understanding the landscape, choosing the right route and guiding people steadily towards their destination. He is also a keen painter, bringing the same focus and perspective to canvas as he does to business.

For Chris, the real legacy of JCM isn’t just its growth, it’s the relationships that have been built and the culture that has been created.

He’s quick to say, the team is brilliant and continues to be a huge source of pride.
