At any one point, we’re wearing 35 different hats, fighting fires, helping customers and paying the bills. 

And in amongst the chaos and moving parts it’s easy to forget one important question - Where am I actually going?!

That’s where a vision comes in. 

It’s not fluffy or optional, it’s a vital tool to have in your small business toolbox!

Having a vision gives direction to your decision making, focuses your energy and gives you a target to work towards.

When you know what you want 2026 to look like, it becomes so much easier to decide what to say yes to and, more importantly, what to say no to. 

So, as we kick off 2026, I want to invite you to create your 2026 Business Vision Board! 

It's so simple and easy to do but lets you kick the year off with purpose and intention.

No, I’m not going ask you to stick things out of a magazine and stick them down (but admit it, that’s always fun to do!)

Instead I’ve created a template with a few prompts to help you start to frame your 2026 Business Vision Board.

Yes, we want to have revenue goals on there and some hard, black and white targets to hit. 

But a Vision is SO MUCH more than goals or numbers. 

It's about getting to the heart of why you do what you do and what you want to achieve. 

In 2026....

How do you want to feel as a business owner?

How do you want your employees, partners, suppliers, customers to feel?

What does you day to day look like?

What does your work balance look like?

Where are you working?

What kind of clients do you have?

What type of work are you doing?

Are there any extra curricular things that compliment your work or your values that you get to do this year? 

Creating a Business Vision Board is all about looking into the future and allowing yourself to dream so that at the end of the year, you can look back and say “Heck yeah I just did all of that!”. 

Use the template for inspo, go to your favourite spot, could be a cosy couch, and creative spot in your workplace, over a friends house or even out on the dog walk! Somewhere where you can take off a few of those 35 hats for a minute and allow yourself to feel inspired and feel the joy and excitement of your business.

Then, once youve created your vision board, go ahead and complete these sentences as if you are your from the future having achieved everything you’ve set out to do. 

In 2026 I finally feel ……………….at work! 

My business is …………….. and I achieved…………....

My team feels…………………and my customers are………………..

I’m so proud that I…………………………………..this year. 

Your 2026 Business Vision Board will be the perfect jumping off point to start the year and guiding light to stay on track throughout the year. 

Once you've got the Vision, you can break it down into actions to start taking steps towards those goals. (and if one of those actions is to sore your business software out, you know where to find us!)
